The late
1930's GE model 5F52 "Mirage" featured a clear glass face with
mirrored numerals and center decoration. It was painted to
give it the black appearance, and covered with silver colored alligator
skin textured paper. The hands were chrome plated. It was also
available with gold mirroring on a white background, brass hands, and a
gold colored paper backing. Also called the "Mirage" was
the rectangular model 5F50, which was also available with a black or
white background. The list price of all versions of the Mirage was
$7.50 in 1937. |
