This is a model AP-1249 timer
unit sold by RCA Victor in the early 30's. It was used to turn a radio
or other appliance on and off at preselected times. The two knobs at the bottom set
the on and off times, and the knob in the center of the clock face sets
the clock itself. Just below the two knobs is a lever which allows
manual control of the internal switch. The clock mechanism was
made by Telechron, and is basically an oven timer with a wood case more
appropriate for the living room than the kitchen. |
