Telechron Model 8007 "Philadelphia Inquirer" |
This clock was a sales incentive for subscribing to the Philadelphia
Inquirer newspaper in the late 1930's. It bears the model number 8007.
The image on the dial shows the Inquirer building at Broad and
Spring Garden streets in Philadelphia. Barely discernable in the
image are several cars in the street which clearly have 1920's
styling.
The yellow (once white) Catalin case was shared with the 1937 model CH783L "Kleertone" alarm clock. The Kleertone was also available with a black or brown case, but I do not believe the Inquirer clock came in anything other than the yellow version shown here. |
