|Telechron Model 7F53 "Telebell"|
|This is the Telechron model
7F53 alarm clock, which they called the "Telebell". This
clock was made between 1933 and 1936, and was unusual in that the alarm
on-off button was on top, rather than out the back. I know of no
other Telechron/GE clock of this period that was so configured.
This clock cost $5.95 when new.
There were a number of variations on the Telebell. The one above has an aluminum (nickel silver?) case with a black Bakelite base. The one below has a lacquered brass case. These clocks are most often seen with a black base. They were also available with Plaskon bases in white, red, or green.
