The Chelsea Clock Company is a major manufacturer of fine quality clocks, and has been in business for over a century. They are the last survivor from the golden age of American clock manufacture, and are best known for their round-cased ship clocks. The clock shown here is a fine example of their craft. A Telechron movement is housed in a substantial case of bronze and beveled glass. The face is 6 inches square, and it weighs just over 5 lbs. It was made circa 1930. There was also a wind-up version of this clock. |
