American D-33 Dynamic Microphone |
This model D-33 dynamic microphone was made by the American Microphone Company of Pasadena, California in the 1950's. It is a beautifully designed unit, its aluminum housing anodized in black and champagne. It was intended for broadcast, recording and high-quality public address applications. It could be purchased with a non-reflecting finish for television work. Its suggested list price was $125.00, though it normally sold for $75.00. The better American microphones were provided with velvet-lined fitted storage boxes, like the one shown below. |
