American D-33 Dynamic Microphone

This model D-33 dynamic microphone was made by the American Microphone Company of Pasadena, California in the 1950's.  It is a beautifully designed unit, its aluminum housing anodized in black and champagne.  It was intended for broadcast, recording and high-quality public address applications.  It could be purchased with a non-reflecting finish for television work.  Its suggested list price was $125.00, though it normally sold for $75.00.  The better American microphones were provided with velvet-lined fitted storage boxes, like the one shown below.
