Shure Microphone Bookends
Shure Microphone Bookends
Shure issued this promotional set of bookends in 1985 to commemorate it's 60th year in business.  They mounted empty model 55S shells on walnut bases, with an engraved plastic plate on each one.  I believe these bookends went to dealers and distributors, and was a way for the company to recover some value from shells that were "seconds", having imperfections that made it impossible to use them in production microphones.
