Volu-Tone Velocity Microphone |
This "Volu-Tone"
microphone is one of many inexpensive ribbon velocity microphones that were made
during the 1930's.
It was sold by the Volu-Tone Co. of Los Angeles, though it was manufactured by the Universal Microphone Company of Inglewood, CA. With the exception of the cast grill piece and name plate, it is identical to the Universal model AV microphone. The Volu-tone company is still in existence (as the Volutone Distributing Company), dealing primarily in home theater and car audio equipment.
