Setchell-Carlson Model 416 "Frogeye" |
||
The 1946 Setchell-Carlson model 416 radio has earned the "frogeye" name from collectors for its odd, bulbous thumbwheel controls and tuning dial. The otherwise conventional 5-tube chassis hung upside-down from the top of the cabinet. The example shown here has a maroon Plaskon cabinet with a white Plaskon grill and knobs. It was also available with a white, blue, or red cabinet, with white trim, and there was also a version in brown Bakelite. |
