Le Radion Tube |
||
This exceptionally beautiful tube was
sold under the "Le Radion" name sometime in the early 1920's, and was
intended for use as an amplifier. It's distinctive color was due
to the use of a phosphorus getter (a method of eliminating oxygen from
the tube after it was evacuated and sealed). This tube was sold by an outfit called "French Importers" of New York, however, it is generally believed that this tube was made by the Le Radion company of Chicago. There were similar tubes sold under the Leader name made by the same company. |
