Detrola Model 280 "Junior"

Detrola "Junior"

The 1939 Detrola model 280 "Junior" was an updated version of the "Pee Wee" model.  The biggest difference was the introduction of a back-lit window dial, and the elimination of the instant-warp Tenite knobs.  The hot line cord was still there for those on good terms with the fire department.  With the exception of the window dial, this radio is identical to the Silvertone model 6107, and was also sold under the Truetone name.  It was available in the brown Bakelite shown, and several colors of Plaskon.
